In 2004, Rev. Jim Crowley, Senior Pastor at New Testament Christian Church in Greece, NY, together with the church elders and congregant Don Buongiorne, identified a significant need in Rochester for housing for men returning from prison. Through Elim Fellowship, Jim Crowley met Rev. Terry King, founder and Executive Director of Saving Grace Ministries, Inc. in Buffalo, and invited him to come and preach at his NTCC. Reverend King’s passion and anointing were evident and touched the hearts of everyone present. Soon afterwards, a meeting was set up to explore the possibility of bringing the “Grace House” Buffalo model to Rochester. After three years of planning and preparation, a building on Amherst Street, near Monroe Ave. was purchased to become the first “Grace House” Rochester. Today the program includes three facilities with 36 beds.
